But wishing does nothing to help out. You don’t know and will never know how to help anyone if you don’t understand them first.

And no. Empathy shouldn’t have to come before you feel like your feelings are being understood. When you learn how to give without expecting anything in return will you have the right to tell that you’ve actually made sacrifices.
